San Diego trip

This past week Theo and I left Matt, Grady and Clara in Portland to go visit Uncle Cliff, Aunt Susie, and my newest nephew Brandon.  Susie and Cliff have made such a happy home for Brandon.  It was a treat to get to see Cliff and Susie as parents and to meet the little guy.  Theo and Brandon never actually made eye contact with each other, but it was still cool for them to get to meet each other as well.  Brandon is in constant motion, and seems so big compared to Theo!  Theo spent most of the time just taking it all in.

We were only there a few days, but still enjoyed wonderful dinners cooked by Susie, a trip to Balboa park, a lovely jog along the bay, and experienced the Santa Anna winds.

First airplane trip.  He slept the whole way!

Brandon turned 16 weeks and Theo 8 weeks while we were there.  Only time he will be twice his age!

Matt and the kids had a good time together while I was gone.  The highlight seems to be a trip to Iron Horse, a local restaurant.

It was great to come home and see my two older babies.  The weather was perfect for a few days, so we took advantage with a trip to the park, and also to Multnomah Falls, about an hour away.  The main trail was closed, but we went there to hike so hike we did.  Very slowly.  With both kids in capes.  And Clara in hello kitty dress shoes.  But it was all worth it for the picnic at the end.

Made it!

Post-milk happiness
Theo has been smiling more and more these days, especially in the morning.  He has even given his big brother and sister a few grins, which makes them super excited.

He's also really becoming aware of his surroundings as his vision improves.

Noticing the animals

He's had a couple of really good sleeps (5 hours and 4, meaning only one wake up for me!) but for the most part is still on the every 2.5-3 hour schedule.  We are starting to transition him out of the bed and into the cosleeper, which he is doing okay with.

Grady and Clara are both doing well.  Clara seems to have recovered from that awful week, and has actually been quite sweet.  Here she is trying to cheer up Theo.

She has also been impressing us with her outfit choices, as always.

Her teacher described her entrance to school this morning to me as "epic"

Yes, those are shorts over sleepers
Grady is still really into superheros, but has also invented several games that he and Clara play together. Dinosaur predators, monsters, Bombay (Matt and I don't really understand the rules on that one).  They play happily together for several hours a day now, and unhappily for maybe one.  It's been great to see their relationship develop, and it's also been great to have a little time not spent entertaining them!

And a few more photos -

I hope he likes cats

Why yes, she is vacuuming while holding an ice cream cone
