Moved in

Just a quick post to let you all know that we survived the move, largely in one piece.  A wine glass seems to be the only fatality.

Despite the chaos, and the inevitable no napping, Grady has, for the most part, been a trooper. We tried to prep him for the big move, with limited success.  He definitely understood that we'd be having pancakes and going to the science museum, though!  He'd also say "move back house," but again, not sure it clicked.

The day before the move, I was talking to Grady about how we were moving back to our house, but we'd all go together and all his toys would be there.  He said, to quote, "Toys?  Tiger book?  Wipes?  Daddy too?"  This was made even funnier by the fact that he's never mentioned this "tiger book" before - best I can think of is his book about wild cats - but he usually calls that "wild cats book."  Anyway, at least Daddy made the list somewhere!

Grady is a bit unsettled, which is to be expected.  I think it was a big relief for him to be back at school today, where everything is just the same.  We are trying to get things at home back to "normal" as soon possible, so his room, the living room/play area, and kitchen are largely unpacked.  (I'm not sure whether moving at 34 weeks pregnant and the height of nesting is a good or a bad idea.)  Please don't ask about the boxes in the basement, however.

Grady and I had a much-anticipated special morning the day of the move.  We started the day off with orange juice and pancakes, and then went to the science museum.  He ate the whole head-sized pancake, a sausage, and even nibbled a bit of egg before deciding that pancakes were the better option.
Carefully enjoying some OJ
Before - or more accurately, during.  There was no way Grady was posing for a "before" shot!

After - no help from Mommy

He had a great time at the science museum, mostly enjoying the sandbox and water feature, but also checking out the play dough, trucks, and so forth.

The rest of the weekend was a blur of boxes, no napping, unpacking, Grady getting to go to his friend Santi's birthday party with Daddy and having cake, and playing with his newly unpacked trucks
A few other things of note - Grady said "I love you" to me for the first time on Sunday.  It was unsolicited and makes my heart melt just thinking of it.

Grady had a new choice "Besa no" - but directed to Fuzz.  Last night while reading his stories before bed, Fuzz wandered into his closet.  Grady said "Fuzzy no...."  Thought for a long moment about what it was that Fuzz was doing wrong, and finally came up with "Mine take a nap."

A few random shots:

"Huuuge puddle!"
 Kitties helping with the move:

We will post photos of the house once we are a bit more settled.  In the meantime, here's our view from yesterday morning - a double rainbow doing a complete arch across the sky.  It's good to be home.
