Odds and Ends

I don't have a theme for this post, just a couple of pictures and a movie I want to share.

Grady is in love with these rice crackers called Baby Mum Mums.  He devours the whole thing in just a few minutes.  They are great for him because they dissolve in his mouth, but he gets the satisfying crunch of the cracker.  He's okay with pureed (i.e., mushy) food, but really prefers the more substantial foods.  Anyway, Matt and I were eating, so we gave Grady a cracker to eat too.  We put him in his baby lounger and he actually worked his way up into a sitting position!

Our list of foods has gotten pretty big now.  Grady loves those crackers, oatmeal, rice cereal, and peaches.  He thinks avocados are good.  He thinks sweet potatoes and apples are so so.  He hates broccoli.  And he despises peas - actually threw them up.  Next on the list is prunes, which we'll try in a few days.

Today Matt's work computer needed to get some work done on it, so we took that as a good excuse to cut out early and see a "mommy matinee" at a local theater.  I've gone to two with Grady before, and they have been fun.  Lots of mommies and daddies with their babies, with some fussing from the peanut gallery.   I don't know if it was the movie or what (Inception), but we were basically the only ones with a baby there.  We actually got a "seriously?" from a woman behind us when Grady started making noise.  So we cut out early (although it was really her fault for being at the mommy matinee not ours!) and went over to Irving Park.  It was just as well, because the weather was just gorgeous today.  We got to play on the swings, which was a big hit with Grady.  (I took a video on my phone, but the file was too big to send, sorry.)  Then Grady got to ride on Daddy's shoulders for the first time - he was pretty vocal about how much fun it was!

And here's a still.
